Mentorship of labs is implemented by trained Mentors and Auditors. SLMTA/SLIPTA mentorship is conducted on-site and comprises of the following;

• Equipping laboratory personnel with knowledge and skills to improve and sustain Laboratory Quality Management Systems, in line with SLMTA curriculum, ISO 15189:2012 and SLIPTA checklist.
• Facilitating laboratory to perform continuous quality improvement projects;
• Developing work plans for addressing the identified gaps (non-conformities) within the laboratory processes;
• Monitoring and evaluating the participating lab progress towards Laboratory Quality Management System.
